She received a degree in Political Science from Trinity College in Washington D.C. in 1963. Sydney is survived by her husband of 60 years, Patrick L. Woomer of Chester, and her four children; Mary Woomer of Old Saybrook, Kate Woomer Pierce and her husband Perry of Darien, Anne Bartoszuk and her husband Greg of Warren, RI, and Patrick Woomer and his wife Tara of Plymouth, MA. She is also survived by her two sisters, Gail Galloway Nicholson of Camden, ME and Janet Galloway Werner of Adamstown, MD, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom loved and admired her. Sydney returned to school once her children were adolescents and earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Connecticut and LICSW from Smith College.
